Do you have soft and brittle nails? No need to worry, we give you 5 effective tips to strengthen them.

1 – HYDRATE YOUR NAILS
How the skin or the hair, the nails are maintained! For example, you can use castor oil which, thanks to the ricinoleic acid it contains, will repair the nail in depth while nourishing the cuticles. Apply the oil directly to the nail by massaging it. There are also creams formulated for moisturizing the hands and cuticles or even ultra-protective serum-like fortifying bases. Our favorite: the Miracle Repair 7 serum from L’Oréal Paris. Enriched with argan oil and vitamin E, this treatment strengthens the protective barrier of the nails.
2 – INVEST IN A HARDENER VARNISH
If you are a big fan of nail polish, it is necessary to protect your nails on a daily basis. It is therefore advisable to apply a hardening varnish as a base before any manicure to prevent them from breaking and / or splitting very easily. Once applied, the product hardens the horny plate and seals the 3 layers of the nail. It thus makes it possible to quickly find strong and shiny nails. The application is done in the same way as a traditional varnish, 2 times a week for a first use or every 2 to 3 weeks for maintenance.
3 – FILE YOUR NAILS WELL
The longer your nails, the more fragile and brittle they become. So remember to file them regularly with professional nail supply, so as to keep a length that is neither too short nor too long and to get off to a good start. The choice of the nail file is also important. First, take into account the health and nature of your nails. In cardboard, metal or glass, we tell you here how to choose it.
4 – PROTECT YOUR HANDS
Our hands are constantly in contact with water and other external aggressions. While it is not easy to fully protect them in everyday life, it is nevertheless advisable to wear protective gloves when using household products. Often chemical, they attack and deteriorate the top layer of the nail which then becomes brittle. So before cleaning or washing the dishes, always remember to put on a pair of gloves!

To be healthy, nails need vitamin B and minerals. If beautiful nails therefore go through the plate, brewer’s yeast (available in pharmacies and drugstores) is an excellent complement for strengthening nails that are too soft and brittle since it is rich in vitamin B8.
